Margalla Hills trails closed for two days
Trails 3 and Trail 5 will be inaccessible to hikers on July 31 and August 1.
Islamabad: Margalla Hills trails in Islamabad have been closed for a period of two days.
Trail 3 and Trail 5, popular among local and foreign tourists, will remain off-limits to the public due to the visit of high-profile foreign dignitaries.
According to an official notification, both trails will be inaccessible to hikers and nature enthusiasts on July 31 and August 1.
In addition, the Islamabad region will observe local holidays on both these dates, affecting educational institutions, private offices, and banking operations.
The decision to close the trails and declare local holidays has been made in consideration of security arrangements for the visiting VIPs.
The district administration has further clarified that during this period, markets and commercial activities within Islamabad's boundaries will also remain closed.
However, essential services such as courts, legislative bodies, the national assembly, the Senate secretariat, and government offices will continue to function as usual.
