British nurse declares guilty for killing seven newborns, including twins

London: A nurse has been convicted of the murder of seven newborns, including twin babies, in the United Kingdom.
According to reports from a prominent international news agency, the court delivered its verdict on Friday after deliberating for 22 days.
The 33-year-old nurse, Lucy Letby, has been found guilty of the manslaughter of seven infants, a shocking revelation that she had intentions to harm even more infants.
Letby had been working at the neonatal unit of a hospital in North West England, where she was responsible for caring for newborns.
The incidents of infant deaths occurred at the Countess of Chester Hospital during 2015 and 2016, a period when Letby was on night shifts.
Police raided Letby's home, seizing evidence that included notes she had written.
In one of the notes, she confessed, "I can't go on any longer, I don't want these families to suffer anymore." She claimed to have committed these acts due to her inability to provide proper care and described herself as a "monster," taking responsibility for her actions.
It is to be noted that among the infants who lost their lives under Nurse Lucy Letby's care, there were also twin babies.
The case has brought shock and sorrow to the community, raising concerns about the safety of infants in healthcare settings.
