Twitter announces removal of blocking feature
The users won’t be able to block others on Twitter.
California: Twitter has declared the end of its crucial blocking feature, indicating that users will no longer have the ability to block others on the platform.
The announcement came as a response to a user's query posed to Elon Musk, the founder of X (formerly known as Twitter).
The user asked, "Is there ever a reason to block or mute anyone? Please explain your reasoning."
While the questions were directed toward fellow platform users, Musk himself provided the answer.
Musk responded, "Block is being removed as a 'feature,' except for DMs."
Subsequently, he added a rationale behind this step, stating, "This feature was causing too much misunderstanding."
It's evident that the block function allowed users to prevent others from seeing their content entirely.
However, Musk hasn't provided a specific date for when this function will be removed.
