Interim PM Kakar forms two more cabinet committees

Islamabad: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has constituted two more cabinet committees on Monday.

The newly established bodies focused on privatization and public-owned businesses will be led by the finance minister.

According to the TORs, the committee on privatization will have the authority to authorize the privatization of government institutions and it will assess and supervise the privatization process's development.

The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises will review the implementation of the SOE Act, 2023, and look into matters related to the appointment of boards in government institutions.

The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises will assess how the SOE Act of 2023 is being put into practice and investigate issues pertaining to board appointments in government organizations.

Earlier today, an important meeting of the Apex Committee of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) will be held today (Monday).

According to details, investment projects in the country by the Gulf countries and China will be discussed in the meeting.

In addition to the caretaker chief ministers and federal ministers of the four provinces, top military officials will also participate in the meeting chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwawr-ul-Haq Kakar.

Introductory briefing will be given to caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq and cabinet members.

The committee will consider the investment projects of Gulf countries and China, while the recommendations of the executive and implementation committees will be presented to the apex committee.
