All Kenyan police officers involved in Arshad Sharif murder declared innocent
Kenya's Independent Policing Oversight Authority is yet to release the results of the investigation.
Nairobi: All five Kenyan police officers involved in the murder of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif returned to duty after being rehabilitated, reportedly.
According to media reports, all the five police officers have been declared innocent in the inquiry while two of them have also been promoted to senior rank.
Kenya's Independent Policing Oversight Authority is yet to release the results of the investigation despite a promise to give it within weeks.
The spokesman of the authority could not answer the question regarding the restoration of the police personnel and the length of the investigation.
Khurram and Waqar, hosts of Arshad Sharif in Kenya, have denied involvement in the murder and are living in Kenya.
It is pertinent to note that on earlier on October 23, 2022, senior journalist Arshad Sharif was killed by the police on Magadi highway in the city of Nairobi, Kenya. The investigation found a contradiction in the attitude of Kenyan police.
