Imran Khan open to engage in discussion with institutions, political parties

Islamabad: Following a meeting between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his legal team at Adiala Jail, PTI legal team member Barrister Gohar Ali said that Imran Khan is open to engaging in discussions with institutions and political parties.

The meeting was attended by a team of lawyers, including Intezar Panhwar, Shoaib Shaheen, Naeem Panhwar, and Dr. Faisal Sultan, who is Imran Khan's personal physician.

The meeting between the lawyers and Dr. Faisal Sultan had received prior approval from Special Court Judge Abul Hassanat Zulqarnain.

Barrister Gohar Ali revealed that during the meeting, Imran Khan expressed concerns about his detention in jail but reiterated his willingness to engage in discussions with institutions and political parties. The primary focus of these discussions would revolve around the logistics of conducting elections within the stipulated 90-day timeframe.

Shoaib Shahin, the lawyer representing PTI, conveyed that Imran Khan is in good health and physically fit. He shared Imran Khan's message, emphasizing the need for political stability as a prerequisite for the country's progress. Imran Khan also asserted that there is a lack of respect for the courts within the country and clarified that he had not engaged in any deals.

Shoaib Shahin further added that Imran Khan maintains a daily exercise regimen of one hour, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his political cause and sacrifices for the nation.

It is essential to note that Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, is presently detained in Attock  Jail on judicial remand until September 13 in connection with the sedition case.
