Sana questions necessity to involve int’l court for Imran Khan
The PML-N Punjab President says that approaching the international courts will tarnish Pakistan’s image at the global stage.
Lahore: PML-N Punjab President and former federal interior minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday raised questions about the necessity of involving the international judiciary, referring to it as the "judicial system's favorite child," in matters concerning outreach to foreign nations.
Sanaullah argued that resorting to international courts would tarnish Pakistan's image on the global stage and likened it to branding the country as a convict.
He asserted that such actions were typically undertaken by the country's enemies and their associates, insinuating that those advocating for terrorists' return, release, and resettlement were now guiding them through a different path.
Furthermore, Rana Sanaullah alleged that those responsible for bringing Imran Khan to power were now attempting to shield him.
He accused them of initially elevating Khan to hero status, securing foreign funding, bringing him into office, and subsequently damaging Pakistan's economy and foreign relations, resulting in inflation and civil unrest.
Sanaullah also expressed concerns about the influence of manipulated youth turning into violent mobs and suggested that taking Pakistan to international courts had pleased those who were infringing on the rights of Kashmiris and Palestinians.
He questioned the source of funds being used for the PTI chairman's international activities, insinuating manipulation of the situation to tarnish Pakistan's reputation on the world stage.
