Justice Isa to take oath as CJP on Sept 17
Interim premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Federal Ministers, and military leadership will all be present for the oath-taking event.
Islamabad: Senior Supreme Court puisne judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa is prepared to take the oath of office as the country's new chief justice (CJP), while Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial has already left his official residence.
Details indicate that Justice Qazi Faez Isa would take his oath on September 17 (Sunday) at Aiwan-e-Sadar in Islamabad.
President Dr Arif Alvi will administer oath to the nominated chief justice.
Interim premier Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Federal Ministers, and military leadership will all be present for the oath-taking event.
According to sources, the President would meet privately with the next chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) after administering the oath.
In the meantime, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial left his official apartment more than two days before his term was out.
Bandial is set to retire as the chief justice of the highest court in the country on September 16. He has shifted into a house reserved for retired judges.
Moreover, Bandial has been in office since February 2, 2022 and served as chief justice for one and a half year.
