Kolkata: Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami has been granted bail in a domestic violence case by a Kolkata court, along with his brother Mohammad Haseeb.

The case dates back to 2018 when Shami's wife, Hasin Jahan, filed a domestic violence case against the cricketer, making serious allegations of physical and emotional abuse.

She claimed that Shami subjected her to severe torture following his return from a trip to Africa in February 2018.

Hasin Jahan further alleged that Shami and his family had harassed her for two years, and she could no longer tolerate the situation.

Despite enduring her husband's actions for the sake of her family and daughter, she stated that Shami's threats and mistreatment had escalated beyond her endurance.

Additionally, Hasin claimed that Mohammad Shami had engaged in infidelity and inappropriate conversations with multiple women on social media, substantiating her allegations with evidence.

In response, Shami took to social media, categorically denying all reports related to his personal life. He asserted that these allegations were part of a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing his reputation and affecting his career in cricket.
