Sugar price goes up by Rs8 per kg

Lahore: Utility Stores Corporation has hiked the price of subsidized low rate sugar by Rs8 per kg as the commodity becomes available for the consumers.

According to media reports, the price of non-subsidized sugar per kg has also been increased by Rs8.

The increase in the prices of utility stores will be implemented immediately. The new high price of sugar has been fixed at Rs155 per kg for general consumers.

While the price of sugar per kg for Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) customers has been fixed at Rs109.

Earlier, the price of sugar for general consumers was Rs147 per kg, while the old price of subsidized sugar was Rs101 per kg.
