Saudi-bound beggar in guise of Umrah arrested

Multan: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a beggar who was going to Saudi Arabia under the guise of Umrah while conducting an operation at Multan Airport.

According to FIA, the accused was going to Saudi Arabia to beg using Umrah visa.

Later, FIA took action on the identification of the accused and arrested the travel agent Muhammad Ali who was sending the accused to Saudi Arabia for begging.

According to FIA, accused Muhammad Ali has sent many people to Saudi Arabia to beg before.

Earlier this month, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of investigation agency Lahore had arrested four suspects including two women and two men from Lahore who were travelling to Saudi Arabia to beg under the guise of Umrah.

The spokesperson of FIA said that the accused were offloaded by FIA Immigration at Lahore Airport. They have gone to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq several times to beg and were to be received by Pakistani agents on arrival in Saudi Arabia.

According to the spokesman, half of the money earned through begging was to be given to the agent.
