Kolkatta: An all-round effort from the bowlers led Bangladesh to book the Netherlands on 229 despite a valiant half-century from Scott Edwards in the 28th match of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Netherlands captain Scott Edwards won the toss and decided to bat against Bangladesh. The Dutch came under fire from Bangladesh’s bowlers right from the start.
However, they put up a capital of 229 runs for the fight based on the fighting innings of the Dutch captain. Scott Edwards scored 68 and Wesley Baresi scored 41 runs for the Netherlands.
Furthermore, Shariful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Sheikh Mehdi Hasan took two wickets each for the Tigers. In this, the Netherlands were all out for 229 runs in the allotted 50 overs.
The Dutch captain won the toss and decided to bat in Eden. The team’s openers, however, could not capitalize on it. They beat opener Vikramajit by just 3 runs.
Taskin brought the first breakthrough. Shariful struck in the next over, sending Max Odud back. After that, Mustafiz returned Baresi after 63 runs. He returned with a catch by Shakib after scoring 41 runs. Ackerman at the other end returned in the very next over, his run was 15 runs.
