Punjab to establish nine model agricultural centers
Mohsin Naqvi directed to design a comprehensive plan to provide all facilities under one roof to the farmers.
Lahore: The principle decision of Punjab government has come to light to establish nine model agricultural centers in the province for which the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has called for the final plan.
According to details, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Caretaker CM Mohsin Naqvi, in which the issue of establishing Model Agriculture Centers was reviewed.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Agriculture SM Tanveer, Chairman Planning and Development Board, Secretary Agriculture and agricultural experts attended the meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
At the divisional level, model agriculture centers will provide all facilities to the farmers at one stop that include seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery and equipment.
Marketing and storage facility of fruits, vegetables and other commodities will also be provided in Model Agricultural Centers. The centers will also be established in districts after division under a phased program.
