IHC dismisses contempt of court petition pending against Nawaz

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday dismissed the contempt of court petition pending against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif since 2018 for non-compliance.

According to details, the anti-judiciary speech case pending against PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif has been dismissed in the IHC.

The contempt of court petition was filed by a local citizen Adnan Iqbal, in which action was appealed against Nawaz Sharif for his 2018 statements.

While no one appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner, on which Chief Justice Aamer Farooq dismissed the petition for non-compliance.

It is pertinent to note that a contempt of court petition was filed in the IHC against PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif for his anti-judiciary speeches in 2018. The court had fixed the five years old petition for hearing today. The registrar office had issued a cause list for fixing the case.
