Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday quashed speculations surrounding Chairman Imran Khan stepping down from his position in the intra-party elections.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the party spokesperson clarified, “No decision has been made regarding the relinquishment of Chairman Imran Khan or the nomination of any other leader in the elections,”.

This development took place after the Election Commission of Pakistan declared the PTI's intra-party elections null and void last week, instructing the party to conduct new elections within 20 days. Earlier, PTI leader Senator Ali Zafar had suggested that “perhaps Imran Khan may not contest the election for the PTI chairman's post,”.

The PTI spokesperson's statement addressed the ongoing situation, stating, “A comprehensive process of discussion and deliberation is underway on all important matters related to the intra-party elections,”.

The statement emphasized, “As soon as the leadership reaches any conclusion on issues such as the conduct of intra-party elections, dates, procedures, and the selection of candidates, it will be formally announced,”.
