Zulfi Bukhari says PTI founder will contest for the chancellor of Oxford University as there is public demand

London: Imran Khan, the former prime minister and PTI founder, will run for the position of chancellor of Oxford University from Adiala Jail. This was confirmed by his advisor on international media, Syed Zulfi Bukhari, to the British newspaper The Telegraph.
Imran, an Oxford graduate, is currently in Adiala Jail due to a new Toshakhana case. He and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were recently acquitted in the Iddat case, but new charges followed. Additionally, he faced multiple cases related to the events of May 9, though the Lahore High Court has granted him relief by setting aside his physical remand in these cases.
Despite ongoing legal issues, Imran has decided to run for the chancellor position at Oxford University. "Imran Khan will contest for the chancellor of Oxford University as there is public demand," Bukhari said. A signature campaign will be launched once Imran gives the go-ahead.
The chancellor seat is vacant after the resignation of Lord Patten, who served for 21 years. This election will be the first to be held online. Imran holds a degree in Economics from Keble College, Oxford, and previously served as the chancellor of Bradford University from 2005 to 2014.
The Telegraph noted that Imran's chances of winning are slim, with prominent figures like former UK prime ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson also in the running.
