Islamabad: The hearing of cypher case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi is underway in the Official Secret Act court.

According to the details, Official Secret Act Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain is hearing the cypher case.

At the beginning of the hearing, Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain asked if there was any notification of the trial in Adiala Jail.

To this, the court staff replied that no notification of the trial in jail has been received as yet.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain said that they will look into this once the notification of jail trial comes.

The defense lawyer Ali Bukhari stated in the court that there is no report to the extent of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, let him come to the court.

Barrister Taimur Malik said that Chairman PTI and Shah Mehmood Qureshi should have appeared in court today following the court order.

Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain directed the lawyer to read the judgment of the previous hearing.

Later, the order of the Official Secrets Act Court on the last hearing of the cipher case was read out.

If the notification of the trial in jail is released then we will see. If the notification of trial in jail does not come, we will order the production, stated the judge.

Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi said that we should wait for the notification of the Ministry of Law today.

For the hearing of the case, Imran Khan’s sisters and Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s daughter Mehrbano have reached Judicial Complex.

It is pertinent to note that this week the special court established under the Official Secrets Act had decided to conduct the trial of the cypher case in Adiala Jail in the light of the security report of the Superintendent of Jail.

In this open trial, the media, the public and five members of the accused's families are also allowed to witness the trial.

Notably, the federal cabinet has also approved the trial of the cypher case against the former prime minister in Adiala Jail.
