Illegal marriage case: Bushra Bibi's exemption appeal approved
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 18 by accepting the plea of exemption from presence of Bushra Bibi.
Islamabad: Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi's appeal for exemption from attendance in non-Sharia marriage case was approved on Thursday.
According to the details, Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah of District and Sessions Courts Islamabad heard the illegal marriage case against founder Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
Complainant Khawar Manika's lawyer Rizwan Abbasi appeared in the court and said: “We have four witnesses in this case whose statements can be recorded on the same day, therefore we should be given a date regarding the production of witnesses”.
Judge Qudratullah remarked that they will see in this regard.
During the hearing, Salman Akram Raja, on behalf of former Chairman PTI, while lawyer Usman Riaz Gul, on behalf of Bushra Bibi, submitted a letter of representation.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case till December 18 by accepting the plea of exemption from presence of Bushra Bibi.
