Peshawar:  The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday granted transit bail to PTI leader and former Federal Minister Zartaj Gul Wazir in the case related to May 9.

PHC Chief Justice Muhammad Ibrahim Khan passed the order, and directed the law enforcement agencies not to arrest her.

The court's decision prevented Zartaj Gul's arrest and approved her bail, emphasizing a departure from the tradition of detaining women.

CJ Khan expressed concern over the excessive police deployment for a female figure, suggesting that if the Attorney General could not resolve the matter, resignations from both parties should be considered.

Earlier, Zartaj Gul stayed inside the bar premises for around seven hours and she categorically said she would not step out until she received bail in the case.

Explaining the challenges in her way and the way of the PTI, Zartaj Gul said that she condemned May 9 incidents but made it clear that she would continue to support Imran Khan and his party, no matter what. She also asked her voters and supporters in  South Punjab, especially in her constituency in Dera Ghazi Khan.
