NA-242: Appeal against approval of Shehbaz's papers rejected
During the hearing, the Election Commission said that the objector said that Shehbaz Sharif has concealed the facts.
Karachi: The Election Tribunal Monday rejected the appeal against approval of the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif from National Assembly seat NA-242 of Karachi.
During the hearing, the Election Commission said that the objector said that Shehbaz Sharif has concealed the facts.
Shehbaz Sharif's lawyer argued that the objections have been rejected before the Returning Officer (RO). ‘My client has no taxes or liabilities, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has written that Shehbaz did not take any salary as the Prime Minister’.
The Election Tribunal adjourned the hearing of the appeal against former Prime Minister for some time.
When the hearing resumed after the break, Shehbaz Sharif's lawyer continued his arguments and stated that he has also attached the NOC of the National Assembly Secretariat. The allegation of the objector regarding travel expenses is also not true. He did not even take the expenses of foreign trips.
It is pertinent to note that the appeal against approval of Mian Shehbaz Sharif's nomination papers was filed by Masood Khan Mandukhel of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
