Punjab govt changes school timings amid cold weather conditions
The latest reports say that the schools will reopen on January 10, 2024 and no extension has been made in the winter vacations.
Lahore: Punjab's caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday announced that schools, due to the ongoing winter wave, would recommence on January 10, 2024.
The chief minister specified that, during the period from January 10 to January 22, the schools would commence at 9:30 am.
The caretaker CM emphasized the importance of wearing jackets and warm clothing during this period.
The Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had earlier declared an extension of winter holidays for all public and private educational institutions until January 7, following Punjab's lead.
A notification from the provincial education department outlined the decision, citing the prevailing freezing temperatures as the reason for keeping schools closed until the specified date.
