Lahore markets witness surge in eggs’ price
The latest reports say that the eggs’ price has reached Rs400 per kilograms.
Lahore: The price of eggs surged to Rs400 per kilogram in the local markets, the latest reports said on Sunday.
This increase, according to the reports, is a result of the local administration's inability to enforce the government rate list amid a general rise in the prices of various commodities.
Onions, for instance, are currently being sold at prices ranging from Rs230 to Rs250 per kilogram, surpassing the government's fixed rate of Rs175 per kilogram.
The cost of a dozen eggs has climbed to Rs400 in Lahore, while chicken is now available at Rs615 per kilogram. This surge in prices has led to concerns among the public, with the government's efforts to stabilize prices and prevent hoarding and profiteering coming under scrutiny.
