Islamabad: During the hearing of the Contempt of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry, there was harsh conversation between Election Commission member and PTI's lawyer Shoaib Shaheen.

According to the details, PTI laywer Shoaib Shaheen appeared in the Election Commission for the hearing of the case.

During the hearing, Shoaib Shaheen said: “We did not receive any notice, this morning we learned from the TV that there is a hearing”. On this, the member election commission asked DD law if they had notified to which they replied that the date for hearing was announced in the jail on previous hearing.

Shoaib Shaheen requested to adjourn the case, saying that they are also taking away their right to criticize, they have also taken away the symbol of bat and now during the election days, their leader will be punished for contempt of ECP.

The Member Election Commission replied to Shoaib Shaheen: ‘We did not take it away, we did not give it to you, it has been two years since this case, at that time it was your government’.

Shoaib Shaheen stated that may Allah make the decision according to the constitution and law. ‘There is lava brewing inside us, we should not express it, our lawyers have been accused in Rahim Yar Khan’.

“Your lawyers had attacked, there should be criticism but not abuse, these cases have been pending since 2021, you have prolonged the case so much, we remained silent on what happened in the jail. We have not seen anything like what the defendant did in prison, we could have done a lot”.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Shaheen had a bitter conversation with the Election Commission members, on which the ECP postponed the hearing till January 24.
