PTI demands judicial inquiry into alleged election rigging
Omar Ayub Khan, the PTI’s nominee for the PM office, asks CJP Isa and CEC Raja to get away from investigation into alleged election rigging.
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominee for Prime Minister office Omar Ayub Khan demanded judicial inquiry into the alleged rigging in the general elections.
“All those people who have been mentioned by Rawalpindi Division Commissioner should not become part of any inquiry,” said Omar Ayub Khan while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday. Barrister Gohar Khan and PTI Secretary General Rauf Hassan were also present there.
The PTI leader said that a fair and free inquiry should be conducted, and demanded that original Form 47 should be shared.
“It was mother of all riggings in the past,” said Omar Ayub Khan.
He alleged that MQM-P stole their seats in Karachi and Sindh. He also clarified that they are patriots of the country and believed in strong army of the country.
“Imran Khan sahib and I have often made it clear that the army should be strong in the country,” said the PTI leader.
He also announced to form governments in the provinces and in Punjab, saying that they had numbers to form the governments. Liaqat Ali Chattha, he said, confessed that they stabbed in the back of the nation.
He also mentioned Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that he confessed no-trust-motion against Imran Khan. Omar Ayub Khan said that the PTI government was removed when the country’s economy was on the right track.
The electricity and gas prices were increased by the PDM government and recently, he added.
He also requested Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa that he should separate himself from investigation of rigging in the general elections. He also asked Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja to get himself away from probing the rigging.
Barrister Gohar Khan said that they did not demand resignation of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, saying that their focus is just on the victories of their leaders.
“We are not going to open a new Pandora box; we are just focusing on the elections results,” he said. However, he said that the judicial commission’s report should be shared with the public.
