PPP determined to vote for PML-N on its terms for govt formation

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tuesday said that they will vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on their terms and are sticking to their position for government formation, however if someone else changes its position, there can be progress.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while talking to the media outside Supreme Court, on the question of opposition to the PML-N during election campaign, said: “I am moving according to my campaign, if I had won the election with majority, I could have said that this is my mandate. But see the wisdom and consciousness of the people that no single party has been given the majority to rule on its own. It is the message of the people that no single party can rule independently, we should come together for decision making. People are saying that those who want to rule, should mix with others”.

He stated that the fact is that people have given such a decision on which all the stakeholders political parties will have to come together and agree so that we can save not only our democracy but also the parliamentary system, the economy and the federation.

Bilawal Bhutto added that if the political parties form an alliance, some points will be accepted. Now the only way to resolved this whole conflict is dialogue and compromise. Therefore, the sooner the process of government formation is completed, the better.

He further said that the PPP has decided to talk to those who have reached out to them. ‘If I have to vote for PML-N, I will do so on my own terms, note theirs’.

The consultative committees regarding government formation are suffering from slowness, this lack of seriousness is harming Pakistan and democracy. Therefore, the sooner this matter is resolved, the better for political stability and the incoming government. will be better, continued PPP Chairman.

Bilawal further stated that there is no rush for them or the PPP. They are firm on their position, if someone else wants to change his position, then there can be progress and if someone is not ready to change its position, then a very dangerous stalemate is in sight, what will happen as a result will not be beneficial for democracy, economy and political stability.

Responding to journalist's question Bilawal Bhutto replied, “What evidence do you have that I have met with the establishment, give evidence before accusing me. If Maulana or anyone say, ask them, even if I met, did I discuss democracy, constitution or bargaining”.
