Pakistan reports over 2,000 new COVID-19 cases; tally surges to 921,053
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported more than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases, taking the number of infections to 921,053, while 43 more people have succumbed to the deadly coronavirus.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,117 cases of coronavirus were reported while 43 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 20,779.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 921,053.
As many as 841,241 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,947 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 339,686 in the province with 9,999 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 317,665 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,020.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 132,549 in the province with 4,073 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 25,148 confirmed cases while 277 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,232 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 543. On the other hand, there are 5,578 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 81,195 cases in the capital city while 760 people have lost their lives.
