North Korea tests short-range ballistic missiles
The Japanese Coast Guard also confirmed North Korea's missile test and said the missiles had already hit their target.
Pyongyang: North Korea has tested ballistic missiles on the occasion of the US Secretary of State's visit to South Korea.
According to foreign media, North Korea has tested short-range ballistic missiles which it fired from the East Sea.
The U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed North Korea's missile test, saying North Korea had fired some ballistic missiles toward the east coast, a stretch of coastline commonly known as the Japanese coast.
The Japanese Coast Guard also confirmed North Korea's missile test and said the missiles had already hit their target.
According to media reports, North Korea's missile tests have been conducted at a time when the US and South Korea are ending their 11-day joint military exercises, while US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken is also addressing the Democracy Summit in South Korea.
North Korea has condemned the joint military exercises between the US and South Korea, saying that these exercises are a preparation for intervention.
In this regard, North Korea had also warned the US and South Korea that they would pay a heavy price for such joint military exercises.
According to reports, 27,000 American troops were there to participate in these exercises in South Korea.
