Lahore: In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Cabinet approved the budget for 2023-24.
The provincial cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz in which Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, IG and other relevant officials participated.
473.6 billion rupees for health, Rs596 billion for education, Rs382 billion for construction, 655 billion rupees for development budget, 30 billion rupees budget was approved for Ramadan package, 264 billion rupees were allocated for repayment of wheat debt, 20 billion rupees was an estimated budget for social security measures.
Apart from this, the budget was also allocated for the special initiatives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Rs25.6 billion were allocated for subsidy on agriculture in the budget, the Punjab Cabinet also approved the supplementary budget 2023-24.
On the other hand, the provincial cabinet also approved the amendments in the Punjab Sales Tax Service Act. It extended the budget for 2024 from July to October and November to March.
