Beijing wants complete investigation of deadly Shangla attack on Chinese nationals

The six people including five Chinese national lost their lives after a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of the Chinese engineers traveling from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu by detonating an explosives-laden vehicle.

Beijing: China on Tuesday called for a comprehensive investigation into a suicide attack that resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including five Chinese nationals, in Besham tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla.

China also emphasized upon imperative of protecting Chinese citizens' safety.

According to Mohammad Ali Gandapur, the regional police chief, a suicide bomber targeted a convoy of Chinese engineers traveling from Islamabad to their camp in Dasu by detonating an explosives-laden vehicle.

Gandapur confirmed that the attack claimed the lives of five Chinese nationals and their Pakistani driver. The KPK police swiftly responded to the scene, initiating relief efforts and ensuring the safety of the remaining convoy members.

Bisham Station House Officer (SHO) Bakht Zahir affirmed the death toll, attributing the incident to a "suicide blast." He stated that authorities are actively collecting evidence while bolstering security measures at the site and facilitating the transportation of the deceased to a nearby hospital.
