UAE govt announces end of weather alert

Dubai: The government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the end of the weather alert.

Other cities including Dubai were submerged in water due to torrential rains in the past few days, but now it is being reported that the Dubai Tram and Metro services have started to be fully restored, while the traffic flow on Sheikh Zayed, the biggest highway of Dubai, has been restored to most of the extent.

Work is underway to drain rainwater from various areas and several highways have been opened for traffic.

On the other hand, delivery of food items to superstores is still suspended in several areas of Sharjah. The water drainage efforts are ongoing in Sharjah and Ajman and citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

Schools and educational institutions in other states, including Dubai, will remain closed Thursday and Friday, with authorities instructing educational institutions to organize remote learning while the UAE government has denied rumors of 'artificial rain'.
