NDMA forecasts severe heatwaves in major parts of Pakistan

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday forecasted severe heatwaves and heatwaves in most parts of the country for the month of June through its National Emergency Operations Center.

The NDMA said that some areas of Sindh and Punjab are expected to be engulfed in intense heat during the month of June.

The NDMA stated that heatwaves are expected in Umerkot, Tharparkar, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, and Sanghar in Sindh, as well as Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur districts in Punjab.

The report mentioned that from May 31 to June 5, dusty winds, storms, and light rains are also possible in the upper regions of the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
