PTI allowed to hold public meeting in Islamabad; Aamir Dogar arrested
The district administration informs IHC that an NOC has been granted to PTI for public meeting
Islamabad: The district administration of Islamabad finally gave permission to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) to hold a rally at Tarnol Chowk on July 6.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) disposed of PTI Islamabad chapter president Amir Masood Mughal's application for the issuance of the NOC. The district administration informed the IHC. Justice Babar Sattar heard the petition related to the PTI rally.
The petitioner's counsel pleaded that on June 26, the petitioner had a meeting with the DC on the court order, asking for the issuance of the NOC. The DC was contacted 20 times from June 26 till yesterday. We were not given the NOC but the court was informed a day before today. We were not given time to prepare for the meeting, Dogar pleaded.
Justice Sattar said in his remarks that the district administration had given the PTI permission for the meeting. "You can't argue about everything. You are a large party and will get people out in a few hours. Should the DC bring people out for you now," the judge questioned.
