Taking to Twitter, Mr Sadpara congratulated the entire nation and specifically people of Skardu for successfully finishing the mission in which many lost their lives.

Earlier, a Bulgarian climber Atanas Skatov died after suffering a significant fall when he descended to Camp 3 K2, after a night with very bad weather conditions. Amid extreme weather Sadara's son, Sajid Ali Sadpara who was climbing K2 along his father was sent back to rest at Camp 3, K2.

It is pertinent to mention here that a team of Pakistani and foreign climbers had begun their expedition to ascend the second highest mountain of the globe, K2, without oxygen to set a world record, days after the mountain was scaled for the first time in winter by a Nepalese team.
