Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday unsealed the PTI office as per the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC). The court also directed PTI to implement fire prevention measures in the building.

PTI has agreed to make ten specific arrangements with CDA officials to ensure compliance with safety standards. The IHC's order mandates the installation of fire extinguishers, separate water tanks, a manual alarm system, a gas detector for the kitchen, display of emergency numbers, and proper electrical wiring in the building.

Previously, the CDA's anti-encroachment team, in collaboration with the district administration, launched an operation to remove alleged encroachments and unauthorized constructions at PTI’s central secretariat. During the operation, part of the PTI central secretariat was demolished. CDA officials stated that the demolitions targeted illegal constructions of PTI offices.

The operation led to clashes between PTI workers and police personnel, resulting in cases filed against political workers for attacking police and CDA officials.
