Players secured nine medals including five gold, three silver, and a bronze medal


Kuala Lumpur: Punjab University players secured nine medals in Asian Rowing Indoor Championship to bring success to Pakistan in the event.
Its first time in the history when a university bring success for the country. PU players secured nine medals including five gold, three silver, and a bronze medal.
According to details, Abdul Rahman from the PU Economics department won one gold and one silver medal and was also declared the best-time player in the championship. Zarak Khan of Hailey College bagged two gold medals, Gohar Ayub of Sports Sciences won one gold medal and one silver medal, and Iqra from Sports Sciences won one Silver and one bronze medal. Two gold medals were also won in the team event.
Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Dr. Khalid Mehmood congratulated the players and said the players have made the country, the institute, and the nation very proud. PU VC provided Rs 15 Lakh to participate in the event despite limited resources.
