Ask party activists to make the strike suceessful

Peshawar: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Tuesday announced his support for the traders' shutter-down strike call for August 28, saying he fully supported the nationwide strike of traders tomorrow against what he called unbridled inflation and illegal taxes had ruined the lives of the people.
In a statement, the JUI chief said that the country's budget formulated on the orders of the IMF had deprived the masses of their everyday meals.
He asked the JUI workers and business forums to make the strike successful.
Markazi Tanzeem Tajiran and All Pakistan Anjuman Tajiran announced a nationwide shutter-down strike on August 28 against the 'Tajir Dost' scheme and the imposition of taxes.
Holding a joint press conference a couple of days back, Kashif Chaudhry and Ajmal Baloch said that they rejected the so-called trader-friendly scheme as unworkable, so the trader-enemy scheme should be withdrawn immediately and the withholding tax levied on all commodities including pulses and flour be abolished.
