PTI protest in Rawalpindi, Section 144 imposed
Roads leading to Liaquat Bagh from Murree Road have also been closed with containers
Rawalpindi: In view of the protest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Section 144 was imposed in Rawalpindi, while containers were also placed outside Liaquat Bagh.
The gate of Liaquat Bagh was completely sealed by erecting barricades and installing barbed wire, while containers have also been erected on the sides of Murree Road. The roads leading to Liaquat Bagh from Murree Road have also been closed with containers.
It is also reported that Murree Road was blocked by placing a container at Faizabad. The employees and businessmen face severe problems while mobile service will be partially blocked in Rawalpindi today.
Due to the possible protest of PTI, the Metrobus service from Rawalpindi Sadar station to IJP station will remain completely closed, while the Metrobus service from IJP station to Pak Secretariat in Islamabad will remain operational.
On the other hand, Murree Ghora Gali, 50 km away from Rawalpindi, was closed with a truck. Murree Motorway was also closed for general traffic. Due to road closure, goods vehicles were also stuck due to which goods worth millions of rupees are at risk of being damaged.
Due to the closure of the roads from Murree to Islamabad, the citizens were trapped in Murree. The Murree Traffic Police could not provide alternative routes to the citizens due to which they are facing severe difficulties.
