Islamabad: Federal Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar said on Monday that after 11 years, Chinese Prime Minister Li Chiang came to Pakistan and a big event is being held in Pakistan after 27 years.
Addressing a press conference after Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang arrived in Pakistan to attend the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Atta Tarar stated that it is a matter of pride for us to have an event of this level in Pakistan after 27 years.
He added that the economy of Pakistan is moving in a positive direction. The exports of IT are increasing rapidly. The emerging economy of Pakistan is seen positively all over the world. Bloomberg has declared Pakistan as an emerging economy. Investment is increasing due to the fall of policy rates; the inflation rate has decreased to 6.9 percent. IT exports are increasing rapidly, and Pakistan's emerging economy is recognized positively worldwide.
The Information Minister further said that it is a matter of pride for us to have an event of this level in Pakistan after 27 years. The image of Pakistan has been restored at the international level and when a country hosts such a big conference, it also speaks volumes about its capabilities. It's good that we can hold major events.
He also stated that the successful holding of the SCO meeting gives hope that we can organize the World Cup or a major international sports competition in future. The image of Pakistan will be improved at the global level by holding the event.
