Mohsin Naqvi calls 26th amendment a ‘victory’
He stated that all the leaders worked tirelessly for the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill
Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that approval of the 26th constitutional amendment is a victory for democracy.
Mohsin Naqvi while congratulating the nation on the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill said that this is the success of the people of Pakistan and thanked Allah Almighty for it.
He especially thanked Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam (JUI) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and the leaders of the coalition parties for supporting the constitutional amendment and said that the positive and historical role of Maulana will always be remembered. The efforts of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar are commendable.
He stated that all the leaders worked tirelessly for the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill and these efforts proved to be fruitful. This constitutional amendment is a victory of democracy. A sustainable foundation has been laid for a bright journey towards a strong democracy and a bright democratic future.
Mohsin Naqvi added that Pakistan and the people have won today. He paid tribute to the leaders of all the democratic parties. It is the right of the parliament to approve the constitutional amendment bill. Everyone worked together to create a consensus for the constitutional amendment, which created a beautiful result.
The Federal Interior Minister further said that this amendment is of key importance for the balance of powers between institutions.
