US appeals PTI to protest peacefully, avoid violence
US spokesperson added that Pakistani authorities are urged to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms
Washington: US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf protesters (PTI) are urged to protest peacefully and refrain from violence.
Speaking during a news briefing in Washington, he stated that respect for Pakistani laws and the constitution should be ensured while maintaining peace and order.
The US spokesperson added that Pakistani authorities are urged to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Matthew Miller further said that Pakistan, including worldwide, supports freedom of expression and peaceful protest.
