PTI ends Islamabad protest
PTI spokesperson stated that uture course of action will be decided in the light of the instructions of PTI founder
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to end the protest in Islamabad.
The PTI spokesperson said that the peaceful protest of the PTI is being canceled for the time being as per the government plan.
He stated that the future course of action will be decided in the light of the instructions of PTI founder.
The PTI spokesperson added that brutality was shown against peaceful protesters in Islamabad. He claimed that they have been informed about eight workers who were martyred. The workers were shot directly. He condemns the killing of workers and the operation.
Over 400 arrested during grand operation
On the other hand, the police arrested more than 400 people during the grand operation against mischievous protesters in Islamabad.
According to the police, Rawalpindi police conducted a grand operation in the area adjacent to No. 26 Chungi. They arrested more than 400 miscreants during the operation, while nearly 800 miscreants have been arrested across Punjab.
According to the spokesperson, a large number of weapons and wireless were recovered from the suspects, while slingshots and ball bearings were also recovered from the suspects.
The police spokesperson said that the suspects were involved in attacks, vandalism, and arson on the police.
Ali Amin Gandapur, Bushra Bibi escape
It is pertinent to note that during the police operation in Islamabad, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi fled in a car, along with their workers.
Ali Amin and Bushra Bibi were in cars near Kulsoom Plaza in the Blue Area, and a few PTI protesters were near the cars.
It is reported that as soon as the operation started in the Blue Area, Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur fled from the D-Chowk area in the same car.
The media reports also suggest that it is not possible to say for sure in which direction Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin went, but according to reports, both escaped from Jinnah Avenue in the same car.
According to police, they succeeded in stopping the car of Ali Amin Gandapur's guards, while his car was chased.
Bushra Bibi's car has been diverted towards KP House and a squad of Islamabad Police has set out in pursuit of Bushra Bibi's car. As soon as the leadership fled, the workers also fled from Jinnah Avenue and Seventh Avenue, leaving their vehicles behind, while the protesters continued towards residential areas.
Attock Bridge closed to arrest fleeing protesters
According to media reports, the Attock Bridge connecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab was closed and containers were re-installed to block the road at Attock Khurd.
A heavy police contingent has been deployed at the connection bridge connecting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.
Earlier, the Rangers reached and cleared D-Chowk and pushed the workers back. Now the police and Rangers cleared Jinnah Avenue from the PTI protesters and pushed the protesters beyond Khyber Plaza.
Throughout the day, PTI workers clashed with the police in Islamabad’s Red Zone, and the clashes continued.
PTI workers removed some containers in D-Chowk with the help of ropes and overturned some containers. Workers wearing gas masks, armed with sticks and batons pelted stones at the police and targeted them with batons.
Notably, four Rangers and police personnel were martyred and more than 100 personnel were injured during the protest.
