‘Covid third wave’: Pakistan reports 830 new cases, 25 deaths
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.
Yesterday, Pakistan reported lowest number of Covid-19 deaths in three months.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 830 cases of coronavirus were reported while 25 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,452.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 964,490.
As many as 908,648 patients have recovered from the disease with 1,968 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 347,014 in the province with 10,786 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 341,275 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,528.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 138,616 in the province with 4,343 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 27,445 confirmed cases while 315 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 20,588 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 589. On the other hand, there are 6,504 cases in GB with 111 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 83,048 cases in the capital city while 780 people have lost their lives.
