Pakistan reports sharp surge in Covid-19 deaths
Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a share surge in Covid-19 deaths as threat of delta variant looms large in Pakistan.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,720 cases of coronavirus were reported while 95 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,797.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,063,125.
As many as 959,491 patients have recovered from the disease with 118 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 362,557 in the province with 11,172 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 396,918 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,168.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 147,452 in the province with 4,524 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 31,069 confirmed cases while 331 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 26,421 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 641. On the other hand, there are 8,615 cases in GB with 150 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 90,093 cases in the capital city while 811 people have lost their lives.
