NCOC approves one-week ban on inter-city travel, on-campus education in 24 Covid- affected districts
Islamabad: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Friday approved ban on inter-city travel and closure of educational institutes in 24 Covid-affected cities.
The decisions were taken at the forum's meeting chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umar in the federal capital.
The ban will be applicable from September 4 to September 12. The NCOC approved restrictsions after Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered necessary measures in the wake of upsurge in Covid-19 cases.
The meeting was told that the restrictions have been imposed in 15 districts of Punjab, eight of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.
All indoor and outdoor activities would be banned. Indoor gyms will also remain closed. However, only outdoor wedding events are allowed to be organised with a maximum of 300 guests.
Among 24 districts where coornavirus restrictsions would prevail are Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Lahore, Faisalabad, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Multan, Bahwalpure, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Swabi, Peshawar, Malakand, Swat, Haripur, Mansehra, Abbaotabad and Dera Ismail Khan.
