COVID-19: Pakistan reports 310 new infections, nine deaths in 24 hours

Islamabad: Amid a steady decline in Covid-19 infections, Pakistan's coronavirus positivity ratio further fell to 0.71 %.

Around 310 fresh coronavirus cases emerged while nine people succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours amid 'Omicron' threat. 

Following the alarming situation, Pakistan’s government will step up COVID-19 vaccination efforts and is expanding the criteria for vaccine booster shots.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 310 persons were tested positive while 9 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID  death toll to 28,793. 

The total number of cases has reached 1,287,703. 

As many as 1,247,066 patients have recovered from the disease. 

Punjab

The number of patients swelled to 443,610 in the province with 13,044 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 477,119 in the province, while the death toll has reached 7,630.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 180,471 in the province with 5,868 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 33,514 confirmed cases while 362 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 34,580 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 742. On the other hand, there are 10,414 cases in GB with 186 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 107,960 cases in the capital city while 961 people have lost their lives.
