Despite Covid-19 restrictions, the film has grossed over $350 million at theaters in Japan and surpassed Hayao Miyazaki's Oscar-winner film 'Spirited Away' in simply over two months to turn into probably the most profitable Japanese anime of all time.

Demon Slayer is based on a popular manga and TV anime series.

The film revolves around Tanjiro Kamado, a boy out to avenge his family after they were murdered by human-eating demons.

Most of the characters of the movie are same as featured in the animated series.

Many of fans believe that the film should be up for Best Picture at the upcoming Oscars.

"They should win because the movie is amazing," said a fan.
