Swat: A 4.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Swat and adjoining areas early Monday morning.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindukush Region in Afghanistan. The depth of the earthquake was recorded 224km.

People in Swat and other areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt the ground shaking after the Fajr prayers and rushed out of their homes. Fortunately, no loss of life or property was reported.

Earlier this month, a 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan. This one, too, had its epicenter in the Hindukush Region.
