Hearing will be held on March 1 at the request of K-Electric on behalf of NEPRA


Karachi: K-Electric has submitted an application to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), seeking a hike of Rs3.40 per unit in the power tariff, it emerged on Tuesday.
According to the reports, K-Electric has requested to increase the price of electricity by Rs3.40 per unit and monthly fuel adjustment application for January 2022 was filed with NEPRA. A hearing will be held on March 1 at the request of K-Electric on behalf of NEPRA.
K-Electric has asked for an increase in the January adjustment for one month, which will impose a burden of approximately Rs3.72 billion on electricity customers.
K-Electric has also applied for quarterly adjustment from October to December 2021. It has also requested for 30paise cheaper electricity in the quarterly adjustment. NEPRA will also hear the request for quarterly adjustment on March 1.
