Lahore has witnessed light and heavy rain
Islamabad: The intermittent rain has lashed parts of the country including Lahore early Thursday, turning the weather pleasant.
According to details, Lahore has witnessed light and heavy rain while the weather in Islamabad, Okara, Jhang, Pir Mehal, Pakpattan, and Bahawalpur also became cold after the rain.
In Lahore, showers were first reported from Kalma Chowk, Barkat Market, Muslim Town. Followed by scattered rain in other areas of the city.
According to the Met Office, the showers will persist for the next 24 hours and the weather will stay pleasant and cloudy. The city’s temperature was recorded at 16.5 degrees Celsius. Lahore’s Air Quality Index has reached below 150.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, a light rain-thunderstorm is expected in Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin as well.
However, up north, a new series of rain and snowfall has started, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu, and Kashmir under the influence of the westerly system.
