Pakistan reports 953 COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths 

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 953 persons were tested positive while 11 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,248.

Pakistan reports 953 COVID-19 cases, 11 deaths 

Islamabad: Pakistan is witnessing a significant drop in the daily coronavirus death count for the few days after over a month hike, health department’s data showed Friday morning.

According to the latest figures issued by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 953 persons were tested positive while 11 died in the past 24 hours— taking Pakistan's COVID death toll to 30,248.       

Pakistan imposed new restrictions to curb the fast-spreading Omicron variant, hence, the positivity rate now stands at 2.17%. While, the cumulative tally of the country has now climbed to 1,512,707.      

As many as 1,451,665 patients have recovered from the disease.     

Punjab

The number of patients swelled to 502,264 in the province with 13,513 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 569,338 in the province, while the death toll has reached 8,083.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 216,614 in the province with 6,283 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 35,361 confirmed cases while 376 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 43,068 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 788. On the other hand, there are 11,543 cases in GB with 191 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 134,519 cases in the capital city while 1,014 people have lost their lives.
